Mukyamantri Amrutum or MA Yojana is a state-run health insurance scheme designed to provide complete coverage to a person for all of their healthcare needs. The scheme was launched by the Gujarat government on September 4, 2012. How Does the Mukhyamantri Amrutum Yojana Work?

In order to avail health insurance coverage benefits under the scheme, the policyholder is required to have an MAA card, presenting which they can seek coverage as a beneficiary under the policy. To enroll for the MA Amrutam card, the policyholder is required to be physically present at the enrollment kiosk. Alternatively, the MAA card can also be downloaded online on certain mobile apps.

Now, while seeking health insurance coverage under the scheme during a medical emergency, the beneficiary is required to submit the MAA card in Gujarati. Upon presenting the card, the beneficiary is entitled to receive health insurance benefits as part of the Yojana.

How to Check MAA Card Eligibility for Mukhyamantri Amrutum Yojana?

Only certain sections of the state population are eligible to apply for the MAA card. To know whether or not you can apply for the MA Scheme, check out the criteria listed below:

  • If your family is listed in the Below Poverty Line or BPL category list of the state government of Gujarat
  • If the annual income of your family is up to Rs. 400,000
  • If you or your family members fall under the Class 3 & 4 employees on fixed payment, as appointed by the state government
  • If you are a senior citizen of a family whose total annual income is up to Rs. 600,000
  • If you are an Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) employee
  • If you belong to any of the above categories, you are eligible to apply for the Mukhyamantri Amrutam Yojana of the Gujarat government.

Exclusions of the Mukhyamantri Amrutum Yojana (MA Yojana) – What is Not Included

Process to Renew the Smart Health Card of Mukhyamantri Amrutum Yojana?

For availing of continued benefits under the MA Yojana, the plan beneficiaries must renew their health card once it expires. The validity period of the health card under the scheme has been increased to 3 years from the earlier 1 year. The renewal can be done by getting in touch with customer care or visiting a kiosk appointed for the purpose. You may require your Income Certificate and Previous MA card for the renewal process.

How to Access the Mukhyamantri Amrutum App?

The Mukhyamantri Amrutum App can be used to find information like impaneled hospitals, a list of total hospitals, contact details, scheme features, and more. You can easily install the app from the Play Store on your Android mobile phone. The app will also help you locate the hospital quickly in case of a medical emergency.

Process to Download Application Form for the MA Yojana?

It is not required for the applicants to get the PDF form of the MA Amrutam Yojana to enroll under the scheme.

Process to Raise a Claim under MA Yojana?

The claim process under the MA yojana is very simple and hassle-free. The beneficiary isn’t required to submit any papers while raising a claim.  All they need is to submit the QR health card offered under the plan to a network hospital. Once the card is submitted, the verification process starts and the treatment starts as soon as the quick verification is over. Hence, there is no waiting period for the patient to initiate the treatment. Also, being cashless claims, the financial burden on the family of the policyholder is removed under the plan.

Once the treatment is done the network hospital shares the hospitalization details with the insurer and the payment gets done without the involvement of the beneficiary.
